Happy 1st Birthday, Dinah!

Last Wednesday, the 16th, Dinah turned 1! We are flabbergasted that the first year of her life has already flown by! She is such a joy and a delight to us!

She’s now 20 pounds and 23 3/4 inches long
She’s pulling up and “cruising” slowly on furniture
She LOVES music and dances a little to songs she really likes
Her favorite song is “Alouette,” probably because we make up silly songs to the tune
She’s really enjoying her introduction to table foods (last week she had macaroni and hot dogs for lunch and a cheeseburger for dinner)
She desperately needs a haircut
She’ll sometimes treat us to a “squinty smile”
She still has just the bottom two teeth
She’s starting cow’s milk
She’ll sit and “read” her books for hours
She’s a superfast crawler
She likes to stand at the baby gate and hold on to the bars like a prisoner begging for someone to come get her
She laughs hysterically when her daddy rubs his beard on her belly
She likes to cluck her tongue and get everyone to cluck their tongues, too
If you set one of her stuffed animals up on the floor, she’ll attack it and cuddle it
If you set up some blocks or something a couple high, she’ll crawl over and knock them down. Her daddy likes to set up obstacle courses for her.
She likes to take out every toy from her basket
After a long trip to the grandparents’ house in Houston, when we got home, she re-introduced herself to all of her toys
She’s totally awesome!
