Dan and Jen’s Blog

Kedra tagged me a while ago and I’m just now getting to it. Here we go.

1. Who is your man? My sweet husband is Daniel Ferris Born. I’m still amazed everyday about how much I love him and enjoy being married to him. He blesses me copiously.

2. How long have you been together? We started dating in July of 2004.

3. How long did you date? We dated from July to January and got engaged on January 19th and then got married on May 7th.

4. How old is your man? 26. He was born on June 22, 1981 and thus is 7 months younger than me. And he never lets me forget it :).

5. Who eats more? Um, he definitely does. He can pack away an entire box of doughnut holes from Wal-Mart in one day with ease.

6. Who said “I love you” first? He indirectly told me he loved me after 2 weeks of dating. I didn’t really get it, so he told me more clearly later.

7. Who is taller? He’s one foot taller than me.

8. Who sings better? I think that’s a toss-up. He refuses to answer, anyways.

9. Who is smarter? He is. And he’s way better at debate than I am.

10. Whose temper is worse? Mine, hands down. But he’s really helped me with it.

11. Who does the laundry? I do. I prefer to have him no where near the washer and dryer.

12. Who takes out the garbage? We both do.

13. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? If you are facing the bed, I do. Wherever we are, Dan wants to be between me and the door, so he can protect me from an intruder.

14. Who pays the bills? Dan does, thanks be to God. I was really worried about that when we were engaged, because I’m really anal and he isn’t so great with details sometimes, but he’s done a phenomenal job and not dealing with the finances has been a wonderful blessing to me.

15. Who is better with the computer? Since I’m a Software Developer for Zappos.com, I’m (and should be) way better at software, but I have no love for hardware or networking, so it’s great that Dan’s really skilled with them and can figure out virtually any problem. He’s really quite handy to have around.

16. Who mows the lawn? Glory to God, we don’t have grass yet. But when we do, I’m hoping that Dan will find it a joy to complete the lawn work since I loathe it.

17. Who cooks dinner? I cook the regular day to day food, he cooks glorious fancy food for me and any guests we might have. See the above comment about handiness.

18. Who drives when you are together? He likes to drive and I hate it. Yay complementarianism!

19. Who pays when you go out? He does usually.

20. Who is most stubborn? I am more frequently stubborn, but when he is stubborn, it is more deep and long-lasting.

21. Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? I usually am.

22. Whose parents do you see the most? We’re four hours from Dan’s family in St. Louis (and have a super-cute 2 year-old niece that we like to play with) and about 12 hours from mine in Tulsa, so we see his more often.

23. Who kissed who first? Him, but I was beckoning him

24. Who asked who out? He declared his intentions with me in the parking lot of Late Night Pie in Houston, TX.

25. Who proposed? He did in a poem.

26. Who is more sensitive? That would definitely be me.

27. Who has more friends? He probably does.

28. Who has more siblings? Tie. He has an older sister and I have an older brother. Yes, we’re both the babies.

29. Who wears the pants in the family? Dan does. He leads me in love and kindness.
