25 Reasons
October 29th 2007 by Dan in UncategorizedWell, obviously we haven’t written anything in a while… too bad, we’ve been busy. Anyways, some of you might wonder why I am going to post this online. That’s easy, I want to brag on my wife. She deserves it.
Everyone does things most others don’t see
But when love is involved these are the key
And so I set out to list a few
Of the numerous reasons that I love you
I love you because of the smell on your pillow
I love you because you’d never watch Willow
I love you because you don’t ever know
That Simon and Garfunkel sing of Scarborough
I love you because you’ll laugh out loud
Even in the midst of an unlaughing crowd
I love you because of the looks on your face
When you’re reading a book in some faraway place
I love you because of your curly hair
Even though the redness gets everywhere
On the seat of my truck, in the washing machine
Even on my clothes that just got clean
I’ll be sitting in class with your hair in my shoe
But it’s never a bother, it reminds me of you
I love you because you like to eat lamb
And at night you transform to the Burglar of Ham
I love you because of each inside joke
Like the gold Camry drivers we’d love to choke
I love you because of popsicle feet
And because you dislike the Boys of Backstreet
I love you because you like office supplies
I love you because you won’t eat cold fries
I love you because of memories we share
Like the crazy skull lady with scraggly hair
I love you because you love to knit
I love you because of your rapid wit
I love you because of how wise you are
and sometimes you need me to open a jar
I love that we have fun wherever we’re at
I love that you correct me when I say things like that
I love in the morning that you drink decaf tea
That’s just one of the reasons you’re Swami-Swami
I love that you like an Icee after church
I love that you’re willing to go on the search
To find something fun to escape from the norm
And that you get scared during a storm
Many more reasons remain without mention
I don’t know if I’ve met my intention
I hope I’ve accomplished what I set out to
These things are common, but the list’s overdue
I can’t find the words in my tired brain
I love you because of the heroic mundane.
